Basic French (A2)

The A2 level French course comprises 42 hours of instruction , organized into two 2.5-hour sessions per week (5 hours/week) . The course lasts approximately 2 months.

The A2 program reinforces and expands upon the skills acquired at the beginner level:
  • Review of A1 level concepts and further development (e.g. construction of more complex affirmative, negative, interrogative sentences).

  • Dialogues in the present, past perfect and near future : scenarios to talk about past experiences or simple future plans.

  • Acquisition of new everyday vocabulary and very frequent idiomatic expressions.

  • Varied activities: audio listening, short videos, guided discussions in pairs, to accustom the learner to various accents and contexts.

  • Pronunciation and phonetics exercises to improve listening comprehension and to be better understood.

  • Guided written exercises (writing a simple email, filling out a form, writing a short story in the past tense).

Method and materials:

Interactive communicative method: role-playing, practical group exercises, multimedia resources (texts, audio, video) to reinforce vocabulary and grammar. Learners are encouraged to speak more freely on familiar topics, in order to gain confidence.

Personalized feedback is provided to help improve oral and written expression.
