The B2 level French course comprises 42 hours of instruction per module , organized into two 2.5-hour sessions per week (5 hours/week) . The course spans 2 months.
The B2 program consolidates the skills acquired at the intermediate level and takes them to an advanced level:
Advanced grammar : review of tricky points (subjunctive, past conditional, passive voice, indirect speech in the past) and practice in using them spontaneously in conversation and writing.
Logical connectors : learning articulators (therefore, nevertheless, on the other hand, consequently, etc.) to structure one's thoughts in writing and orally during discussions or argumentative writing.
Practical exercises in subgroups : simulations of meetings, lively debates on current topics (for example: advantages and disadvantages of teleworking, environmental issues, etc.).
Advanced oral production : longer oral presentations, participation in debates, professional role-playing (mock job interview, meeting discussion) to gain confidence in all these situations.
Advanced written production : writing formal letters, short reports, structured commentaries on an article, with in-depth individual correction .
Culture and society : discussions on works (films, books) or on current events, in order to enrich cultural understanding and idiomatic vocabulary.
Method and materials:
As with previous levels, the approach remains interactive , with a higher requirement for autonomy . The facilitator plays more of a moderator role to allow B2 learners to express themselves at length.
More complex, authentic documents are used (national press articles, excerpts from essays, news videos) to familiarize students with the language as it is actually used by educated native speakers. Classroom discussions are conducted primarily in French only.
